FCE Pharma and FCE Cosmetique 2010 celebrate their 15th edition with 100% of the exhibit space sold
Presentations Health Ministry and Avisa representatives confirm the importance of this event targeted at the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industry

NürnbergMesse Brasil, one of the largest fair organizers in the world, will hold the 15th edition of FCE Pharma and FCE Cosmetique respectively, an International Exhibition of Technology for the Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics Industries from May 25th to the 27th. The events take place simultaneously at the Transamerica Expo Center, which is celebrating 15 years of success, in a 30,000-square-meter exhibition area. The event accomplished 8% growth compared to last year and 25 thousand visitors are expected.

With 100% of the exhibition area sold, this gathering has proved to be an important platform for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics segments in Latin America, joining not only the main companies in the national market, but also important international conglomerates from countries such as India, China and France. “The importance of Brazil in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries world scenario is unparalleled”, points out Ligia Amorim, Director General of NürnbergMesse Brasil.    “This is confirmed through the joining of both events and the participation of important national organizations and institutions in the congresses held during the trade fairs.”

This year, the Pharma Congress, a technical and scientific pharmaceutical production meeting, will hold two important presentations delivered by representatives from the Ministry of Health and Anvisa. On May 25th, Zich Moysés Júnior, Director of the Industry and Innovation Complex of the Health Department from the Secretary of Science, Technology and Strategic Input will lead a debate about the industrial health center in the public healthcare system.

On May 27th, a presentation will be given by João Paulo Silvério Perfeito, an expert in Regulation and Health Surveillance from Anvisa, that among other topics, will debate the development process of phytotherapy medications, their challenges and trends.

FCE Pharma

According to IMS Health, the Brazilian pharmaceutical market is expected to grow between 8% and 11% by 2013. Among the factors that contribute to such growth are the stable economy, greater access to prescription drugs and government health care system policies. In 2009, the total medicine sales in Brazil added up to 30.2 billion Brazilian reals.
The pharmaceutical global market is expected to generate between 820 and 830 billion American dollars in 2010, which would be 4% to 6% growth in comparison to last year.

During the 15th FCE Pharma edition, over 400 direct and indirect exhibitors will attend, presenting the edition with the largest number of machine and raw material companies in the sector. The event also relies on the presence of Pharmexcil, an Indian industry conglomerate, the China Pavilion and the Brazilian Society for Contamination Control Pavilion.

The 8th edition of the Pharma Congress will also take place during the event, which, in addition to the participation of the Ministry of Health and Anvisa, will hold presentations about new technologies and market trends.

FCE Cosmetique

An important meeting for sector industry and professionals, FCE Cosmetique will gather 260 direct and indirect exhibitors, both national and international, presenting the main cosmetics innovations in Latin America. The 15th edition will have a higher number of companies from the fragrance sector through the France Exhibition Area with nine more companies from the sector.

The 24th edition of the Brazilian Cosmetology Congress takes place throughout the three-day event and its main theme will be Cosmetics Science: Alternatives for Innovation and Harmonization.

The most recent data provided by Euromonitor in 2008, shows that Brazil holds third place in the personal hygiene, perfume and cosmetics segment world ranking. The national market grew by 10.4% in 2008, generating revenue of 24.54 billion Brazilian reals, according to the Associação Brasileira da Indústria de Higiene Pessoal, Perfumaria e Cosméticos (The Brazilian Personal Hygiene, Perfume and Cosmetics Industry Association).
